This is a design I did for a local middle school’s production of Seussical, Jr. They wanted to stay with the familiar sky blue, red and white color scheme from The Cat in the Hat. The iconic hat took a long time to get just right, but the results were worth it. Finding a Seuss-inspired font added just the right touch.
For the program they needed the inside to be black and white, so I had to make sure that the photos and ads used in the program had sufficient contrast to make them readable. I also had to redesign quite a few of the ads to ensure they were crisp, clear, and of sufficient size. I had the covers printed on glossy full-color cover stock so at least some point of the program would be in color, and match the adorable t-shirts.
