This is a 30″x30″ mixed media piece on canvas depicting a blue heron on a background of vintage ephemera, textile, and silver leaf. It is the companion piece to “Rêverie en Vert.”
The vintage paper ephemera is comprised of tickets, stamps, and other paper items – some of it over 100 years old! The textured portion is woven netting material, which I’ve painted over. To finish the piece, I took sheets of silver leaf and gently brushed them over adhesive areas on the netting to give it a bit of shimmer.
