I have been designing the JMU Foundation Annual Report for the past three years. The guide is a combination of financial data and articles. This year we had a new project manager who used Slack to help coordinate content and timelines. It was so much easier to keep everything in one place and to keep information and updates flowing smoothly.
The overall look and feel didn’t change too much from previous years – it is primarily a financial update – however, we did do some different things with the article layout, particularly with the headers and the way images were used. The merchandising section was expanded to two full pages of mostly images, as well as adding a page for highlighting some of the rankings that the University achieved. I was particularly pleased with the two ranking images with featured portions of the photos bleeding out into the white space.
