This is a set of two 12″x12″ watercolor paintings of autumn leaves against black and white tiles. They are currently matted and framed.
We recently replaced our ancient patio table with one that holds tiles, and I decided to replace the existing tiles with beautiful black and white tiles. One the leaves started falling in our back yard, I saw how beautiful the leaves looked against the bold black and white pattern, and decided to do a watercolor of each.
The hardest (most tedious) part was drawing and painting the tile pattern. I had to start over a couple of times, but I finally got it where I wanted. I’m super pleased with how the leaves turned out.
