I was approached by Mark Smith about developing a logo and a website for their non-profit, Mihret Medical Supply Group. The U.S. hospital system discards over 750 Billion dollars worth of medical waste annually – a large portion of which is usable equipment and medicine. Mark partnered with some like-minded physicians with the idea to create a non-profit that would collect quality surplus medical items that could be donated hospitals, clinics and medical facilities in developing areas overseas, who would otherwise go without, reducing waste, and helping medical organizations in need. Truly a win-win. The name of the organization, “Mihret,” is the Ethiopian word for “mercy” and perfectly sums up their mission. It’s also a deeply personal name as it is the name of one of the physicians’ children. The website was designed to showcase the type of work they do, communicate their mission, and provide a resource for physicians and medical organizations to get involved in their mission.
I also designed their logo.To view the website, visit https://mihretgroup.org.
